Agreed. But the reason I suggest giving it another opportunity is that socially anxious men are at a loss how to do so. A job is an obvious conversation starter for most people and they may have difficulty seguing from that. Also they may be trying to demonstrate interest by making opinions in the thought they are being helpful. My feeling is we need to address how we socialize boys and girls at a young age and encourage friendships much more so among them. And of course get them from behind their phone screens so they can learn how to connect through conversation because all we are doing now is raising anxious kids with no clue how to listen and understand each other.
