Completely agree. Their opposition rests on no logic. As an adoption social worker I can tell you not only is the adoption process challenging, it’s a lifelong journey of loss for the child and trauma if from foster care. Most people do not understand adoption and like Justice Coney Barrett’s flippant leave them at a fire station, it’s damaging as well. This is exhibit number 1 why there must be separation of church and state; a secular state protects the rights of the individual and does not indulge dogmatic prohibitions based on mythology.
