Hi Hasan. My point is not to engage in debate about the fertilized egg. My point is that this is not any government's decision to make. Even child protection service agencies have absolutely no jurisdiction until a baby exits the womb. If people are sincere in their belief they really value life, then what would that advocacy look like? Using legislation to compel women and girls to carry an unwanted child? How about economic autonomy for women, control over whether or not they will marry, when, if they want to have sex? Do we provide healthcare? Do we ensure pregnant women and babies are not drinking polluted water? Do we care about the rampant abuse and neglect, domestic violence that children witness? Do we care about the economic and climate injustices that lead to civil wars that exponentially impact women and children more than men? The sexual abuse that occurs in homes where there is substance abuse, in foster care homes, group homes? Do we care about the children sex trafficked? Who is 'saving' them? If pro-lifers are not doing everything in their power to address actual life in these instances, then they have no right to carry that mantle.
