I agree AI companions will ultimately worsen loneliness. Hundreds of thousands of years of evolution primed our central nervous systems to seek emotional and physical safety in social groups. Emotional safety is experienced viscerally and generates healthy brain chemistry. AI circumvents this evolutionary process and leaves the central nervous system more agitated and anxious. Life is not intended to be lived in front of a screen.
