I consider myself to be sane and rational and yet I couldn’t help but to begin to indulge a little conspiracy theory. Elon Musk who controls Star Link has been in regular communication with Putin. Both were heavily invested in this outcome and neither has any scruples. It also seems all of Trumps election denialism and the GOPs full throated support of that lie was a deliberate and concerted effort to shut down any opposition from Democrats by asserting the same now. They were too confident they were going to win. And trends since 2016 were favoring Democratic candidates in midterm elections. I cannot believe these results are valid. It does not reflect the massive efforts on the ground to generate enthusiasm. There was such a massive red wave that some state legislatures have super majorities and many elected state judges are far right. Abortion amendments that passed will be overturned. This makes no sense to me. Something is very wrong with these results. I suppose I have now officially joined the list of conspiracy theorists but I feel strongly this was manipulated through Musk and Putin’s efforts. There was too much on the line for them and Trump and they would do anything for him to win.
