I never write keep it zipped. If anything I believe people should be able to have as much consensual sex as they want because it’s healthy emotionally, mentally and physically. It is complex and of course everyone should be involved in the conversation. But there are differences in terms of control. You can’t force a man to have sex and it is not his body that may literally be forced to carry a pregnancy to term. That is simply biology. So a man who adamantly does not wish to be a father can still exert some control by using a condom while the methods women use to decide if they want to be parents or not may also be taken away. Enforcement of child support is still erratic, a man can work off the books. I can’t go into all the statistics on women’s labor versus men’a nor the pay disparities, but all you need to do is look at poverty levels based on latest research to get a picture. Ultimately, I support men and women being friends, partners and working together to invest in a society that cares about the optimal development of the next generation because it benefits us all. Anger and blame are counter productive and won’t help with working solutions. I do appreciate your input because it helps me to consider other points of view.
