I work in the world of foster care adoption. We had a teen boy ready to age out who still wanted us to find him a family. We did, a single woman in her 50’s and they became each others world. He went away to college shortly after and he would get care packages from his mom and he had a loving home to go on holiday break. Family bonds are powerful. Don’t let anyone define that for you.
