Organized religion is a business and serves business interests. They monetize faith and prey on people’s anxieties. Policing women’s behaviors and legislating against reproductive autonomy thwart women’s ability to achieve political and economic power. The symbiotic relationship between institutionalized religion and conservatism sees women’s self-efficacy as threatening to the status quo of who has money and power and who doesn’t. So long winded answer, religion is bad for women’s mental health and civil liberties.
