Professor Ronald Levant from the University of Akron has studied this for decades and calls this Traditional Masculinity Ideology. His research shows that those men who carry shame for not measuring up to this rigid unhealthy ideal are those most prone to violence and mass shootings. We all need to address this because it’s a public health emergency.
