Yes, be afraid, be very afraid

People will sell their souls to feel safe.

They will peel the fingers of the drowning from the life raft to better their own odds at survival.

They will trample the fallen in desperation for the exit.

Logic, compassion, and reason are relegated to luxuries under the shadow of existential threat.

And so with the dawn of 2024 upon us, it is not the optimism of a better tomorrow that will save us, it will be actual fear, not the manufactured drivel of Trump and his acolytes, because it is a far, far worse outcome than even they can imagine.

The erosion of the rights of any one group, undermines the rights of all. If the human rights of a pregnant individual are subsumed to the fetus, viable or not, what makes any individual man believe he will have the right to procreate?

You see, with a national ban on reproductive rights on the Trumpian wish list, in no short amount of time will there be an influx of significant special needs kids, NICU babies generating medical costs in the millions, Medicaid will implode.

Unwantedness is already especially precarious on any child’s optimal development, add to that minimal if any prenatal care, social or…
