True yet the injustice that women have to remain ever vigilant about the most basic right while men do not shows how deeply entrenched sexism is. It’s sad that girls and young women have to live lives on edge, in a state of anxiety while their rights hinge on the whims of others. Yes we must vote for the right candidates and be active participants in democracy, but the culpability lies with the well-funded far right machine hell-bent on power and maintaining the status quo. Women are never truly free until they don’t have to live in a state of perpetual anxiety.
