You Can’t Be Over The Hill If You are Still Running Up It
by Elaine Gilmartin
Only in the world of running is one thrilled with every passing birthday. Did I mourn turning 35, 40, 45? Hell no! Youngest in my age group. Bring on the competition! I want me a medal!
And so I was especially eager to turn 50. Women in their 30’s and 40’s are amazing runners, frequently outracing those in their 20’s, so I figured maybe finally the competition would begin to drop off, not literally, of course.
